KeymasterCheck out this week’s featured scholarships! Also, The American Meteorological Society scholarship is an opportunity to share a KEY HOW TO FIND SCHOLARSHIPS TIP: You can STILL APPLY to scholarships that call for majors your child may not go into. For example, The American Meteorological Society scholarship requires applicants “must be entering their freshman year of college in the fall of 2023 as a full-time student and plan to pursue a degree in the atmospheric or related oceanic or hydrologic sciences.” It does not matter that that your child may be planning to go into a different major. AS LONG AS THEY DON’T DECLARE A MAJOR, they can still apply for the scholarships. It says “plan to pursue a degree” , meaning they are not requiring PROOF; only a plan. Links to scholarships below:
National High School Essay Contest
Students whose parents are not in the Foreign Service are eligible to participate if they are in grades nine through twelve in any of the fifty states, the District of Columbia, the U.S. territories, or if they are U.S. citizens attending high school overseas. Students may be attending a public, private, or parochial school. Entries from home-schooled students are also accepted.

Oratorical scholarship recipients will be eligible to receive their scholarships upon enrollment to an accredited trade school, college, or university within the United States.Deadline: VARIES

AMS Freshman Undergraduate Scholarships
The American Meteorological Society is pleased to announce the AMS Freshman Undergraduate Scholarship program, open to all high school students and designed to encourage study in the atmospheric and related sciences.
